For more than 20 years, Brett Weaver has represented individuals and entities in a wide variety of complex business disputes, including cases involving breach of contract, fraud, professional negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, trademark, trade secret, unfair competition, defamation, employment matters, and securities litigation. Brett has successfully tried cases to verdict in both state and federal court, as well as numerous arbitrations. He has also handled appeals before the California Court of Appeals, the Arizona Court of Appeals, the Washington State Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Before joining Lewis Kohn & Walker LLP, Brett worked for two highly-regarded litigation boutique firms in San Diego. In 2011, he co-founded a firm that primarily handled business and securities litigation with offices in San Diego, New York, and Georgia. In 2017, he left that firm to become outside litigation counsel for a start-up company in the consumer-products sector.
Brett earned his Juris Doctor from the James E. Rodgers School of Law at the University of Arizona and holds a Bachelor of Arts (major: Political Science; minor: History) from the University of Arizona. During law school, he externed for the Hon. Judith L. Haller at the California Court of Appeal and the Hon. Richard J. Haden at the San Diego Superior Court.
